Mexico’s possible knockout stage venues

Should Mexico finish top of Group A, then they would play at Mexico City Stadium once again in the Round of 32 and remain in their capital city if they reach the Round of 16.

Further progress in the tournament would take El Tri to Miami for the quarter-finals, with Atlanta the next stop should they reach the last four, ahead of a hoped-for appearance at New York New Jersey Stadium for the World Cup Final on Sunday, 19 July.

A second-place finish in Group A would take Mexico to Los Angeles for the Round of 32, with victory seeing them travel to Houston for the Round of 16. That pathway leads to a potential quarter-final in Boston and then a Dallas semi-final.

Finishing third in Group A leaves two potential Round of 32 venues open for Mexico – Seattle or Boston – should they finish as one of the eight best third-placed sides and depending on how the other groups pan out.
